Building Snowmen with Banners

In the past, we've featured "Backpacking with Banners" to encourage our employees to get active. We are located in Minnesota, so one of our employees decided to build a snowman instead of going backpacking!

Backpacking with Banners - Labor Day Weekend

Backpacking with Banners - Kristal's Adventures in Minnesota

Kristal, one of our graphic designers in our marketing department, took a family vacation over Labor Day weekend. Her family traveled to Itasca State Park. If you've been following our Backpacking with Banners adventures, you'll see that this is a popular destination!

This picture is taken at the headwaters in Itasca State Park. While Kristal was hiking, she was thinking "if it rains later, this banner will come in handy to keep me dry!"

Her family also passed through Menahga, Minnesota where they came across the statue of Saint Uhro.

The legend says that Saint Uhro got rid of the grasshoppers that were threatening the grape crop in Menagha, MN so they built a statue of him with a grasshopper kabob.

Backpacking with Banners - Glacier National Park

Backpacking with Banners - Hiking in Glacier National Park

As part of our Wellness Committee at Banners.com, we have started a "Backpacking with Banners" program to encourage our employees to get active outdoors. We have a few banners that our employees are able to take with on their adventures.

The latest "Backpacking with Banners" adventure was to Glacier National Park in Montana. Here are a few pictures from Jana's hiking excursion.

Glacier National Park Pictures

The first day of hiking was to Avalanche Lake. The trail was about 5 - 6 miles round trip.

The second day of hiking was an attempt to get to Grinnell Glacier. Unfortunately, the trail was still covered with snow, but the view was still pretty amazing! The entire day of hiking / walking around was about 20 miles.
