Proposing Using a Will You Marry Me Flag

Landon Proposed to Lia with a Summit Flag and She Said Yes!

We print a lot of banners and flags at Banners.com, but we don't always hear the story behind them. We were very touched by the story that Landon sent us regarding the flag he purchased. Here's the story of how Landon and Lia got engaged.

Landon traveled to Argentina in December with a group of climbers to climb Mount Aconcagua. They had amazing weather when they reached the summit on January 5th. Landon had been keeping in touch with Lia back home via a satellite phone and kept her updated on the progress of the group. Back home, Lia had no idea about the proposal flag. Landon took several pictures at the summit of Aconcagua (22,841 feet) with the flag asking Lia to marry him.

The climbers made it back down to base camp and Landon arrived home on January 11th. The next weekend Landon took Lia to Times Square in New York "just to spend some time together" since he was gone for three weeks. On the first night in New York Landon was showing Lia the pictures of the trip and telling stories about the climb. The last picture was him on the summit with the proposal flag. Once she saw the picture, he took out the flag and the engagement ring and proposed officially. Lia was totally shocked but she said yes!

Halloween flags are a great way to decorate for Halloween! You can use the Halloween flag to decorate your yard or you can use it indoors at a Halloween event.

How to Design a Custom Halloween Flag
We have lots of Halloween templates available on our Halloween Flags page. You will need to select the size and quantity of flags. Then select the flag fabric and the flag finishing options. There are three design options. You can customize a template by adding a background, clip art, text and uploading images. If you have a file designed you can upload it or you can have a graphic designer create a design for you.

Left Header with Grommets

What are the Finishing Options for Fabric Flags?

One question we get quite a bit is what are the flag finishing options. There are several finishing options available including a left header with grommets, hems and grommets and pole pockets.

Left Header with Grommets
The standard finishing option is the left header with grommets. We add a piece of canvas to the left side of the flag that is about one inch wide. The canvas is sewn onto the flag for added strength and grommets are placed at the top and bottom of the left header. The rest of the flag is sewn around the edges.

Sewn Hems and Grommets
The flag hems are sewn, not heat welded like vinyl banners. The hem line is very close to the edge of the flag around the perimeter. Grommets are placed in the corners and every 2-4 feet around the flag if needed. This option is commonly used for fabric banners. The main difference is the fabrics. Pole Pockets
We can also sew pole pockets on the flag. When you have pole pockets, we recommend having your art work at least 4 inches away from the edge of the flag to prevent having seams run through your graphics.

How to Order Bowed Flags

Step by Step Instructions on How to Order a Flying Banner Display

Bowed Flags, or Flying Banner Displays are outdoor fabric flags. They are commonly used to draw attention to a business, a sales event or a grand opening. They are printed on a lightweight mirror fabric material and come in three different shapes with several different bases. We have Rectangle Flags, Razor Flags and Tear Drop Flags. Each product will display the sizing, pricing and template information.

How to Order Bowed Flags
Bowed flags have a curved shape, so we do not offer a design online option for this product. You will need to work with one of our graphic designers / customer service representatives. You can either have your flag designed for you, or you can design the file yourself using our templates.

Work with a Graphic Designer
If you want a graphic designer to design the bowed flag you can either call them (320.965.9300) or email them with your instructions. Please note our office hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm CST.

If you are going to be designing your own files, we have templates available for each size of flying banner display. Click on the desired size template from the product page to download it.

About the Flying Banner Display Templates
The templates are a PDF file that you can download from our website. The template will have three lines, the bleed area, the finished size and the safe area.

About the Bleed Area:
The bleed area is fabric that will be printed, but is used for finishing the product. You should have your background colors and images extend into this area.

About the Finished Size Area:
The finished size is the area of the flag that is still visible after the finishing. You should have your background colors and images extend into this area.

About the Safe Area:
The safe area is the area where your flags content will appear. It is important that you keep all logos, images and text within this area or you won't be able to see it after finishing.You must convert all fonts to outlines and images must be embedded.

Wedding Season is Here - How to Use Banners, Yard Signs & Flags at your Wedding

There are lots of ways that you can incorporate banners, yard signs, table runners and flags at your wedding! From "Just Married Banners" and Yard Signs directing people to your reception, we have you covered!

Directional Banners and Signs
When planning your big day, you will want to make sure that all of your guests make it to the wedding and reception without difficulties. If you have people who aren't familiar with the area, the best way to avoid people getting lost is to put up banners or signs directing people to the wedding and reception.

Wedding Reception Banners and Signs
At the wedding reception you can use a banner as a backdrop for the wedding party. You can put the wedding couple's name and wedding date on the banner. You can also make a banner for people to sign and put well wishes on (like a big guest book). Banners also work well to display pictures of the couple and information like how and where they met.You can also have a fabric banner or fabric flag that displays the couple's name and wedding date.

Wedding Reception Decorations
If you want to have a fancy wedding party table, you can get custom table runners made. The table runners are printed in full color so you can add photographs and text. You can also have removable wall graphics made to display. You can have the couple's name and wedding date, or you can put pictures of the couple up at the reception. Another popular option is to have a floor graphic made for the dance floor for the couple's first dance.

Just Married Banners
You can also make banners that say "Just Married" with the couple's name and wedding date on it to put at the reception or on the vehicle that will be transporting the newlyweds.
